on breaking new ground in the rubber mulch arena.
While the entire industry, fueled by large government grants,
was
(and, for the most part, continues to be) mired in the "grind up
tires for rubber mulch"
phenomenon, JJV Rubber Mulch and
Safety Surfacing, Inc made the bold and environmentally
responsible decision to go non-tire. In its young history, the
company has
involved itself in the research and development of
every major component of the industry, including paint,
equipment
and rubber itself.
Other bold innovations will surely follow. The recycled rubber
revolution
(say that real quick ten times) is in its infancy - it was
not that long ago that rubber was traditionally abandoned
in the
nation's landfills - and the potential for new products created from
recycled rubber is virtually
limitless.
JJV Rubber Mulch has several new products in the conceptual
stage and some near
reality. One of the more intriguing and
inventive products, just now emerging from its development phase,
is
our Rubber Alphabet. It consists of letters and numbers molded
out of recycled rubber.
Like Safe Rock and Soft Rock, they
will be
painted in an assortment of colors and will present a dazzling new
look to playgrounds - and
give youngsters an opportunity to work on
their spelling and math while they wait in line to get on the slide.
The
product should be available in 2009.
We also sell rubber pavers. They are available in five colors - gray,
green, black, red and tan. They are six-sided (hexagons to you purists)
and measure two inches thick and nine inches
from side to side.
There are approximately two pavers per square foot. They are a high
quality,deep-cushioned, durable
alternative to conventional hard
surfaces such as concrete and brick.
