What's the Big Deal?
The Big Deal is this:
Wire mixed with rubber, even hidden in
rubber, is dangerous, especially on the playground. Our solution
-
make our products from non-tire recyclable rubber only. JJV
Rubber Mulch and Safety Surfacing,
Inc is the only company
in the industry that can make that claim and thus guarantee a
100 % wire-free
product. Safety first.
Companies
advertising their rubber mulch to be 99% wire-free
are, in reality, including 20 pounds of wire in every ton you
purchase.
That's a big bucket full of wire and we find that to be
wholly unacceptable. We would rather
give you, the customer,
an additional 20 pounds of 100% wire-free rubber mulch.
Some examples of non-tire recyclable rubber - and there is a lot
more
of it out there than most people realize (how 'bout those
flip-flops you have on your feet?) - include conveyor
belts,
every imaginable size hose and tubing and the lining around
your car windows. In the summer of
'07, the large rubber lining
that housed the retractable roof on Safeco Field in Seattle needed
to be
replaced. The good folks with the Mariners did not want to
dump it in a landfill and so they contacted us. We paid for
the
shipping and that rubber is now gracing the playground of a future
major leaguer.
