Our products meet ATSM-1292-99 and have been EPA tested. Our non-tire, 100 percent wire-free recycled rubber is carefully cut.

Safe Rock: Chopped to an average size of 3/8 inch, Safe Rock is the preferred replacement for sand, wood mulch and pea gravel and used primarily for playgrounds. Safe Rock meets and exceeds the strict ASTM guidelines for Fall Zone and Fall Height requirements. The Safety Fall Height is nearly double that of the non-rubber alternatives - 7 feet at a four-inch depth, 12 feet at a six-inch depth. Safe Rock is the cleanest and “greenest” – and certainly the safest – playground surfacing product on the American market.

Safe Rock is also sold in bulk by the cubic yard and by the ton. One ton (the equivalent of three cubic yards) covers 225 square feet at a four-inch depth (the recommended depth for residential playgrounds) and 150 square feet at a six-inch depth (the recommended depth for daycare and commercial playgrounds). The best way to determine the tonnage required for your project is to determine the square footage of your playground and divide it by 150 (to get to a six-inch depth), 180 (five-inch depth) or 225 (four-inch depth). If all of these math problems are a bit much, do not hesitate to give us a call (651.222.8321) or fill in the contact form.
